Surviving Canine Adolescence (6 week course - 1 hr) $110.00
|
For dogs between the ages of 6 and 24 months. Limited spots for adult dogs.
Instructor: Elsie (345-2475)
Class Schedule (subject to change)
OCTOBER Time TBA   Spots Still Available
Note: This class is offered once every 3 months ONLY.
First time dog owners or dogs who have not completed or taken a basic obedience/manners class within 6 months must first complete a Basic Manners class.
Unfortunately, just like humans, dogs go through adolescence as well. This is a time where dogs start to test you and you wonder where your cute, little puppy who
followed you everywhere, went. We can help you out with this. We use the NILIF program developed by Susan Vollhard to help you get through your dogs adolescent period.
The program will help your dog learn to meet other people and dogs, and become an acceptable member of society, recognizing every household member as the leader.
Many owners see a difference in their dog's behaviour in as little as a week, if the program is followed as we teach it. Although this class is for young dogs, we
will accept a limited number of "rude" adult dogs into each class as well.
Is Surviving Canine Adolescence right for you?
If you answer "yes" to any of the following questions, the Surviving Canine Adolescence is for you!
Have you completed Basic Classes within 6 months, and are still having a few issues, such as minor leash pulling and normal adolescent problems?
Have you had classes at another training facility using Positive Motivational training methods? (no leash popping, chain or pinch collars, or punishment based methods)
Do you have an older dog with no dog aggression issues (please ask for an evaluation, since not all lunging or pulling on leash is aggression), and just want a fresh new approach to living with your dog?
Is your dog good with "most" family members, has completed classes successfully, but needs to learn respect for one or two people in the household?
Is your dog generally well behaved, but sometimes doesn't listen, steals things, won't give you toys, needs an obedience "tune up"?
Do you have a well behaved dog, and are getting a new puppy? (For the other dog, not the pup, BEFORE you get the pup, to stop sibling rivalry and learn how to deal with "pack" behaviour)
Are you expecting a new baby? (An additional class is offered after completion)
Do you want your dog to like you more, and build a better relationship built on trust and respect?
