Our Obedience classes teach YOU to train your dog. They teach YOU how to be a leader, how to enforce commands and rules, how to get respect and keep it all without force or fear. All family members who are old enough to understand and control the dog should participate in the class!

Name recognition, walking nicely on a loose leash, sit, down, off, attention, wait, and behaving around other dogs and people, as well as polite greetings. You will learn a trick each week to amaze your friends and family. Our last class is a party, with fun, games, and a prizes. Our methods are not "Plug and Play" methods, meaning that we are flexible in our techniques, allowing for individuality within each handler/dog team, and even within each family/pack unit. In the first class, each handler will fill out a detailed "Canine Personality Profile", a unique, accurate questionnaire invented by Susan Vollhard. The scores in this profile will give us a detailed insight into your dog's personality, based on its innate and learned drives, which will help us suggest a personalized training program to fit your individual lifestyle and fulfill your dog's needs. For this reason, classes are limited in size, and attendance in Lesson 1 is mandatory. Is Basic Manners right for you? Have you missed a few classes in our Basic Manners session, or have not completed a full set of classes at another facility? Is your dog timid?
