Pawzitive Attitudes Canine Companion Obedience Classes are all about teaching kind humane obedience classes, using relationship based methods as inspired by experts such as Suzanne Clothier,
Ian
Dunbar, and others. Teaching oriented toward creating a well mannered
obedient family pet using toys, treats and praise. Classes sessions
last 6 weeks each. Clickers and non clickers are welcome. It is not
what you use to train, it is how you use it.
PLEASE NOTE:
Our classes are filling rapidly by word of mouth,
even before they are posted. If you wish to come to a class that says
FULL, please call and give us your name.
If we have enough waiting, we will set up a new class and sometimes we
have a cancellation and a spot may open up.
Positive Motivational Training
In our classes Dogs and Handlers are taught how to communicate to
obtain the best results. Children are invited to attend so that they to
can learn about behaving around dogs.
Q: Is it safe to bring my 8 week old puppy to classes after only one vaccination?
A:Yes, it is! In order to maximize the benefits of a
basic / puppy class, puppies should be enrolled at 7-10 weeks of age.
The sooner the better.

Q: Is a 6 week class enough to ensure a well trained dog?
A: Of Course Not! We offer this Basic class as a
starting point for all of our students. After successfully completing
this class, each student can then enroll in the sport they wish to
pursue. This could be Surviving Canine Adolescence, Rally Obedience,
Agility, or Flyball. This class is what starts it all!

Even though this book is called BEFORE you get your puppy, it goes into
the first few months of living with a new dog and is helpful even for
new owners of adult dogs.

Class Information and Policies:
If you miss 2 classes you will have to repeat the class again.
Classes can be made up for $10 per class.
Please call 24 hours in advance if you are going to be absent.
Bring soft treats, we suggest Canine CarryOuts or Pupperoni. Other treats that are soft and easy to eat are fine also.
Have a long leash. We suggest at least a 6 foot leash and
leather. Nylon is fine but no retractable leads. We do have some
leather leashes available for purchase.
Dogs are trained with flat buckle/snap collar. We also have the new Sensation Harness available for purchase. We do not allow choke chains or pinch collars.
Toys are a good thing to bring especially if your dog is toy motivated. Bring along his most favorite toy as this should get him excited.
Wear comforatble foot wear. Running shoes/flat shoes are best.
Bring your dog hungry. They will be getting lots of treats and this will help prevent accidents.
Try to arrive 5-10 minutes early. If there is another class going on you can wait in the kennel room or outside until the other class has finished.
If your dog is in heat you may bring her to class but please
have her wearing doggy panties. Injured or ill dogs MUST NOT come to
class.
We accept Junior Handlers as long as they are accompanied by an adult family member who remains present the entire class.
If you are going to be missing a class please contact your instructor. Elsie at 345-2475 or Cheryl at 789-5124 or cell 535-2605.
Come with fun in mind and make sure you and your dog have a positive experience at class.
