  • WHAT OTHER DOG OWNERS HAVE TO SAY...

"I picked Jack up in October, 2005 and since then he has been a constant source of entertainment and challenge to me. Jack was my first dog I had living with me since I was a child so I thought it would be a good idea to take him to some obedience classes. Funny thing, he wasn't too obedient and as a result we were asked to leave not one but two separate "obedience" classes. I was pretty discouraged. I thought there was no hope for this feisty and yappy puppy. Then I saw the ad for Pawzitive Attitudes DogZone. If you click on the home page you can find a place where it says, have you been told to take your dog out of a class, or turned away because of behavioural problems? We can help you, and have never asked a dog and its owner to leave a class before. I thought that if they were telling the truth in this ad, then this was the place for Jack and I. We could never be asked to lave a class. I went to the first class thinking that at any moment we would be facing the instructor of the class who would soon tell us we should probably not return to the next one. Guess what?! We weren't. It was like magic as pretty soon Jack was doing the things he was supposed to do in class. He now has done agility classes and flyball. But Jack's love is for the ball, so we have tended to focus on that. We were recently in a tournament in Regina. While Jack was definitely not the star of the tournament, he did not get kicked out of the building and I was happy about that accomplishment. I cannot say enough about how the training made a difference to me and Jack.

"Since we started working with Mugs, he has drastically changed. I have to be honest that there was a time that I hated him. In fact, he's actually living at my parent's house right now because we built a new house a couple years ago and had no landscaping, we were having a new baby and I couldn't or didn't want to deal with his running away, peeing, possession aggression, etc. with a newborn. However, there was something in me that never felt right about giving up or being an irresponsible dog owner because I've always loved dogs. So we thought about trying training to incorporate him back into our home. It's funny but since, I stopped "Hating" him. He's totally turned around. Everyone has noticed a difference in him. We thoroughly enjoyed the training and were surprised at how fast he picked up on everything. He is certainly a happier dog and we are actually enjoying him for the first time. Now that I've seen this potential, I know he can go a long way. Your last handout in class really struck a bell with me that it's a life long learning process just like people - it's so simple but makes so much sense."

"Just wanted to thank you and everyone at the building for all your help this winter. I never thought I would ever get fast enough to get a Q. That teeter isn't looking so bad any more. Everyone is so great and so supporting. I have the most fun ever there"

"Just wanted to thank you again for bringing Suzanne Clothier out for this seminar. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. You guys did a great job."

"This was my very first agility trial, I really enjoyed myself and learned so much. On Saturday we were entered in veterans/special starters class, my Jaz came in first and qualified, Riley came in second but did not qualify. I would like to thank our club Pawzitive Attitudes, for the wonderful training you offered, the moral support, and confidence you gave me, and encouraged me to enter the trial you are all so awesome I can't thank you enough."
    Marlene - Regina

"Just a note to let you know how very much I enjoyed your (Basic Manners) class. I will continue working with Sage, incorporating the clicker more and more. Thanks again, Elsie...you have opened up a whole new way of training for me, and I appreciate that. It brings results quickly... and is fun for the dog to learn."

"Can we try for lesson 3? I've seen an improvement in her. Not a big one, but a more subtle one. She has improved quite a bit in walking on leash. I used to walk her with a gentle header, now its a flat collar and she doesn't pull much and keeps walking back to me and looking at my face for a treat"
Sandy - Ontario (she requested help thru email lessons and support)

"I have been taking obedience with dogs off and on for 25 years. I have not ever found a method that is kinder to the dog, and that brings results as quickly (and as willingly on the dog's part) as what you are teaching."
